By Muna Hamal, Surkhet, Dec. 1: Chief Minister of the Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has obtained the vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly today.
CM Shahi got 22 votes in the existing 35-member Assembly in favour of his proposal for the vote of confidence.
Not a single vote was cast against his proposal as the provincial lawmakers of the opposition CPN (UML) were absent in the meeting. The UML lawmakers are said to have not returned from their party General Convention that ended yesterday in Chitwan.
CM Shahi got the votes from his own party Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), and CPN (Unified Socialist) as well as a vote from Rashtriya Prajatantra Party. RPP.
