By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 15: The government has recommended proroguing the winter session of the federal parliament.
Birodh Khatiwada, Minister for Health and Population, informed that the meeting of the Council of Ministers held today made a decision to this effect.
The Cabinet has recommended the President to end the winter session of the parliament effective from today midnight.
The Head of the State calls and terminates the session of the federal parliament as per the recommendation of the Cabinet decision.
This session of the parliament endorsed the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact despite the obstruction of the parliament by the main opposition CPN (UML).
An impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana was also tabled in the parliament during this session.
