Talks between the government and sugarcane farmers, who had been protesting in the Capital, demanding clearance of their payment dues from Sugarcane Mills has started today at the Ministry of Industries, Commerce and Supplies.
Government’s team, on leadership of Minister for Industries, Commerce and Supplies, Lekhraj Bhatta and sugarcane farmers have started their discussion on the issue at the Ministry itself, informed Dinesh Shah, Personal Assistant of minister Bhatta.
A written agreement will be made today, out of the verbal agreement of paying 80 per cent of the dues within January 10 and clearing the entire payment within January 21, held previously.
