By Mahima Devkota, Kathmandu, Feb. 5: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government decided to go for a fresh public mandate for political stability, safeguarding sovereignty, independence, continuity of economic development, and prosperity in the country.

Prime Minister Oli, also Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), said so while addressing a mass gathering organised by the NCP here at Durbar Marg on Friday.

"The presence of the general people in this mass gathering here has proved that this is the main NCP," said Prime Minister Oli.

The Prachanda-Nepal led faction called the general strike yesterday, which only made the life of the people difficult, said the PM, The old woman's vegetables were thrown on the road by the strike enforcers, those who claim to be working for people. The poor taxi driver was deceived and his taxi set on fire."

Prime Minister Oli, also the NCP chairman, said that the government is working with the main goal of making Nepal prosperous and happy. He highlighted blacktopping of roads, construction of more than 400 bridges/ suspension bridges and transmission lines and substations across the country.

"East-west railway line has started and will be in operation soon," he said, India and China have agreed to run trains in Nepal.

"We are building a good road from Kathmandu to Kerung which will cut the travel duration to an hour. We have introduced tunnel roads in the country," he said.

PM Oli assured that there will not be load shedding any more as the country is now focused on generating more electricity.

Similarly, a member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) and Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel expressed his commitment to fighting for the defense of the country in spite of any adversity.

The dream that PM Oli has seen for economic development and prosperity will be fulfilled despite the dire circumstances created by the NCP led by Prachanda- Nepal faction, said DPM Pokharel. We will fight against any forces that try to bring political instability to the country and we will bring stability and will protect the freedom and sovereignty of the county.

Pokharel said that people whose vehicles were vandalized yesterday will be compensated by PM Oli led NCP.

Likewise, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal', also a secretariat member of the NCP, warned of locking up those who create anarchy in the name of protest.

"Regressive elements are resorting to all kinds of conspiracies and illusions," the Home Minister said.

Satya Narayana Mandal, a standing committee member of NCP, also addressed the gathering.

Rallies were taken out from different places of the capital city before they all merged into an 'extended people's gathering'.
