By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 12: Former chief of Janakpurdham municipality Krishna Giri has died from COVID-19.
He breathed his last on Tuesday midnight while undergoing treatment at Lalitpur-based Mediciti Hospital, according to the deceased family members.
Giri, 72, was airlifted from Janakpurdham and then admitted to the hospital on July 24 after he suffered brain hemorrhage.
According to the deceased family member, Anurag Giri, infection of COVID-19 was confirmed in the former mayor of Janakpurdham while under treatment in the hospital, and that Nepali Army personnel were making preparations for disposal of the body.
He is survived by wife and two sons.
