TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 31: Petroglyophs or inscription on rocks dating back to Licchavi era have been found for the first time in Fasku of Nagarjuna Municipality.
The rock inscriptions with the Licchavi era scripts were found at the premises of Sat Kanya Mai and Pancha Kanya temples of Lupang of Nagarjun Municipality, said Shyam Sundar Rajbanshi, an archeologist and specialist of Nepali ancient scripts.
Along with the Licchavi scripts various rock tablets that portray Licchavi and pre-Licchavi era history have been found.
Under the inscription collection programme of National Achieves, a team led by archeologist Prakash Darnal that also comprised of Nepali ancient script specialist Shyam Sundar Rajbanshi and researcher Kul Nath KC had found the inscriptions with the help of locals Bhimbar Singh Thapa, Surendrabar Singh Thapa and Gokul Budhathoki.
A few years ago, mid-era scripts on rock carvings were found at Tathali of Bhaktapur which event gained popularity at that time.
