By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 17: The High Level Coordination Committee (HLCC) to prevent and control COVID-19 has recommended the government to extend the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
Mentioning lockdown as the most effective measure to control COVID-19 spread, Narayan Bidari, secretary of the committee said, "The meeting of the HLCC held today at Singha Durbar has decided to extend the lockdown and implement it more strictly."
"The committee has also recommended on issues such as halting unnecessary stoppage and disturbance to people, mobilisation of police force in all areas and proper management of import of goods," added Bidari.
Likewise, the committee has also recommended increasing the number of quarantines in local levels.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers being held will take the final decision as to extension of lockdown.
