By Bhaktibilash Pokharel/ Bhotraj Rai, Udaypur, Apr. 21: Eight residents of mosque area in Triyuga Municipality-3, Udaypur, have tested positive for COVID-19 in the re-test carried out at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, today.
Mohan Prasad Subedi, Chief of District Public Health Office, Udaypur, confirmed the number of new infections.
Earlier, on April 17 and 18, 13 persons residing at Bhulke mosque, Udaypur, had tested positive for the virus. Following this, 69 people of the area were tested at Koshi Hospital through PCR technique, in the initiative of the State government.
After eight persons tested positive in the PCR test at Koshi Hospital, their swab samples were sent for the re-test at the BPKIHS, Dharan.
Moreover, Nepali Army on Sunday had sent 251 swabs from the area for PCR test at National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) wherein, a 33-year old male tested COVID-19 positive today itself.
Udaypur District Police chief and Superintendent of Police, Bir Bahadur Budhamagar, informed that the entire area had completely been sealed.
