By Prakash Bikram Shah, Dhangadi, Apr. 21: Amrit Shahi, 34, of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-6, Taranagar has been discharged from hospital after recovering from COVID-19 infection.
Shahi, who was the fourth COVID-19 patient of Nepal, had been receiving treatment since almost a month at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi.
After being discharged from the hospital, he extended gratitude to all the doctors, nurses of the hospital and those who helped him recover in direct and indirect ways.
"As per the doctor's suggestion, I will stay in isolation at home for seven more days and get my PCR test done again," he said.
The National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) had reported his COVID-19 infection on March 27.
He had landed in Nepal on March 7 from Dubai via Delhi.
Likewise, he flew to Nepalgunj on March 8 via Buddha Air and then took a rikshaw, microbus and a bus to his hometown, Dhangadi.
After staying at home for three days, he went to the hospital to get his COVID-19 test done.
The virus had transmitted to his 34-year old sister-in-law also, leading Nepal into second stage of COVID-19 transmission.
The health workers said that the health condition of his sister-in-law was improving.
With this, five COVID-19 patients have recovered in Nepal.
