COVID-19 update: 980 new cases, 1,814 recovered, tally hits 46,257

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 6: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Sunday confirmed 980 new cases of COVID-19.

In 10,382 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 980 persons, 290 females and 690 males, were found with the virus infection, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.

Meanwhile, 1,814 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at various health facilities across the nation were discharged in the last 24 hours after recovering from the virus infection. The recovery rate now stands at 63 per cent.

Currently, there are 17,027 active cases of COVID-19 of which, 9,201 patients are in institutional isolation and 7,826 are in home isolation. Some 4,703 people are placed in quarantine across the nation.

Of the active COVID-19 patients, 174 are admitted to the ICU and 27 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility.

With this, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 46,257 including 28,941 cases of recovery and 289 death cases.
