By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 29: With 2,364 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection confirmed on Thursday, the national COVID-19 caseload has reached 164,718.
"In 9,769 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 2,364 were found to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its update.
Currently, there are 38,942 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 31,898 are in home isolation. Some 304 COVID-19 patients are admitted to the ICU while 76 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility. A total of 2,689 persons are currently placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, 3,038 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 124,862 cases of recoveries and the recovery rate stands at 75.8 per cent.
As many as 17 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours and with this, the national COVID-19 related death tally has crossed 900 and reached 904.
