By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 20: As many as 218 new cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in the country in the last 24 hours.
According to the daily update of the Ministry of Health and Population, in the 2,725 PCR tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 218 people were found infected with the virus, SARS-CoV-2, that causes COVID-19.
Only two persons were found infected in the antigen tests of 1,416 people in the same period.
As many as 263 people got over the virus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the national recovery rate to 97.9 per cent.
The update said a person died of the virus infection in the period.
According to the MoHP, there are 5,525 active cases of the novel coronavirus across the country. The Ministry said that 86,593 people were vaccinated against the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
