By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan. 28: With 213 new cases of the novel coronavirus confirmed on Thursday, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 270,588.
"In 3,791 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 213 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily update.
Currently, there are 3,203 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation, and 133 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, 290 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 265,365 cases of recoveries.
Moreover, no COVID-19 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours. Currently, Nepal's COVID-19 death toll is 2,020.
