By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 25: With 1,948 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Wednesday, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has surged to 226,026.
"In 9,210 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,948 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection," revealed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its daily update.
Currently, there are 16,639 active cases of COVID-19 and 669 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, some 3,140 patients who were either receiving treatment in various institutional isolations or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has recorded 207,998 COVID-19 recoveries until now. The recovery rate of Nepal now stands at 92 per cent.
Moreover, 28 patients succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours taking the nation's COVID-19 death toll to 1,389.
