By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 22: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Sunday confirmed 1,669 new cases of COVID-19. The national COVID-19 tally has now reached 220,308.
"As many as 1,669 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours," said Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the MoHP in the press briefing today.
Currently, there are 19,963 active cases of COVID-19 and 686 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, some 5,699 patients who were either receiving treatment in various institutional isolations or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has recorded 199,024 COVID-19 recoveries until now.
Moreover, 16 patients succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours taking the nation's COVID-19 death toll to 1,321.
