By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 10: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday confirmed 1,217 new cases of COVID-19, taking the national tally to 245,650.
“In 7,232 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction Tests (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,217 persons, 443 females and 774 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection,” informed the MoHP in its daily update.
Currently, there are 12,386 active cases of COVID-19 and 515 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad are stationed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,064 persons either staying in home isolation or receiving treatment in various health facilities recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in Nepal has spiked to 231,601 and the recovery rate is at 94.2 per cent.
Moreover, 12 people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 1,663 and the death rate is at 0.68 per cent.
