By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 6: With 1,096 new cases of novel coronavirus confirmed on Sunday, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 240,981.
“In 6,495 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 34 hours, as many as 1,096 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection,” informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
Meanwhile, a total of 1,752 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, Nepal has recorded 225,805 recoveries until now and the recovery rate has reached 93.7 per cent.
Currently, there are 13, 582 active cases of COVID-19 in Nepal of which, 5,121 are receiving treatment in institutional isolation and 8,461 are in home isolation.
Of the 5,121 patients in institutional isolation, 313 are admitted to the ICU and 55 are receiving treatment in ventilator facility. Moreover, 536 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are staying in quarantine.
Moreover, as many as 17 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours and with this, the national COVID-19 related death tally has reached 1,594.
