Navaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, Aug. 5: Two persons have succumbed to COVID-19 at the Koshi Hospital of Biratnagar in Morang district on Wednesday.
Of the dead, a male aged 45, a resident of Biratnagar Metropolis-9, was undergoing treatment at the hospital while the other, a female of Rangeli-8, breathed her last while being brought to the hospital.
With this, number of death cases due to COVID-19 in Morang district has reached four.
Dr. Chuman Lal Das, medical superintendent of the hospital, informed that report of the confirmation of virus infection in them was received after their death.
The male was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday for lever treatment and he died in the afternoon on Wednesday. The woman from Rangeli who suffered from respiratory problems died on the way while being brought to the hospital.
Swab of the both was collected after their death and sent for testing, said Dr. Das.
Earlier, a 77 year old male of Biratnagar-5 had died from COVID-19 in the hospital on Monday while another male, 45, of Morang Sunbarshi Municipality-8, had passed away due to the infection while undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Academy of Health Sciences, Dharan, this week.
