By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 21: The Supreme Court has ruled that the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) does not have the authority to conduct sting operations.
The constitutional bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana and Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Meera Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki, and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada on Wednesday issued an order to CIAA to halt all sting operations.
Advocate Bishnu Prasad Ghimire had filed a writ petition at the Top Court stating that the sting operations being done by the CIAA was unconstitutional
