By Dhirendra Prasad Sah, Rajbiraj, July 2: A boy was killed after a wall collapsed on him due to vibration of roller (Ba 2 Ka 9683) in Khadak Municipality-1 in Saptari district.
The deceased has been identified as 7-year old Umesh Kumar Mandal, son of Nakhelal Mandal Dhanuk, informed Kalyanpur Area Police Office.
The roller was being used for concreting the road from a local Fulo Miya’s house till Laxman Sah’s house with Rs. 3.5 million budget of Khadak Municipality.
Chabil Mandal is the chairman of the user's committee through which the road was being constructed.
No representatives of the user’s committee was present while the accident took place.
Minor Umesh Mandal was observing the construction work by sitting near a mud house while the vibrator machine was operated.
His family members were working in a field nearby.
After the operator intensified the vibration of the roller, the wall of the mud house collapsed over the boy, said Shrawan Kumar Sah, a local.
Sah said that no one noticed it till half an hour.
“His dead body was found while the locals went to clear the collapsed brick wall,” said Sah.
The deceased’s family have demanded strict action against the representatives of the user’s committee and ward chair.
The Area Police Office has confiscated the roller.
Search operation for the user’s committee members has begun, the police informed.
