By Navaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, Aug. 30: Two patients of COVID-19 undergoing treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Secinces (BPKIHS) have succumbed to the deadly infection.
The dead are a woman aged 74 and a man aged 60 of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-17 and both of them died this morning, informed Dr. Dinesh Sapkota, spokesperson of the BPKIHS.
According to Surya Bahadur Bhattarai, Ward Chair of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City-17, the deceased were mother and son.
Both of them were admitted to the hospital on Saturday evening and they tested positive for COVID-19 in the PCR report this mornig.
The woman had been suffering from cough, fever and respiratory problems for over a week before she was admitted to the hospital while the man's health condition had started deteriorating for a week before he was brought to the hospital.
The man was also suffering from lever problems for the last two months.
