By Dipak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Apr. 26: One of the two persons who were confirmed as having tested positive for COVID-19 earlier today is an office staff of cleanliness department of Birgunj Metropolitan city (BMC).
The other person, who tested positive, was staying in quarantine at Birgunj-based Siddhartha Secondary School.
With this, the number of COVID-19 patients in Parsa has reached five, informed Lalit Basnet, Assistant Chief District Officer, Parsa.
After three Indian nationals residing at Jame mosque of BMC-2, Chapkaiya, tested positive for the virus, PCR test of 82 out of 187 people who had come in contact with them was conducted, where two 50-year old males tested positive for the virus today.
Dr. Madhav Upadhyaya, medical superintendent of Narayani Hospital, said that 50-year old male of BMC-2, Ghusukpur, was kept in isolation in Narayani Hospital and preparations were going on to admit BMC official of BMC-3, Chapkaiya, to the same hospital.
