By Shivaraj Dhungana, Achham, June 27: A 25-year old pregnant woman of Chaurpati Rural Municipality-5, who had tested positive for COVID-19 before undergoing intestinal surgery at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur has recovered from the virus infection.
The eight-month pregnant was airlifted to Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur after her stomach started to swell on June 8, where she was also identified with SARS-CoV-2 infection. The surgery was performed on the same day.
In the last two Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests, the patient tested negative for the virus.
"She has been shifted to normal ward after recovering from the virus infection. However, her post-surgery treatment is going on," said her husband.
With this, 13 out of 114 COVID-19 patients of Achham have recovered from the virus infection.
