By Dipak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Mar. 25: The Parsa police have locked 52 people in a container for over ten hours. They had come to Birgunj by hiding in the same container, disobeying the lockdown.
52 People, form different places had hopped in the container, with registration number 'Na 5 Kha 9552' which was returning to Birgunj from Kathmandu.
The Parsa police arrested them last night and locked them up in the same container for 10 hours.
Lalit Basnet, Assistant Chief District Officer of Parsa said that thermal test was carried out on all of them.
"Maximum of the returnees is from Parsa district and some of them are from Bara," said Basnet.
"We are discussing whether to send them to their homes or to keep them in quarantine," said Basnet. "The driver and conductor of the container are detained and they will be punished accordingly."
The container was taken in police custody on Tuesday mid-night from Ghantaghar, Birgunj.
The container had reached Birgunj from Kathmandu via Chitwan and Hetauda.
Likewise, 29 vehicles disobeying the lockdown were taken into custody on Tuesday.
"The vehicles were released in the evening by charging Rs. 500 each," said Basnet.
