Nearly four people were killed and four people have been critically injured after a jeep met with an accident at Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-3, Jaruwa on Thursday morning.
Tika Narayan Shrestha, 61, of Pathari Sanischare Municipality-4, Morang, Dhak Bahadur Magar, 47 and Mina Narayan Shrestha, 47, of Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-3 died one the spot and Tikaram Shrestha, 35 of Pathari Sanischare Municipality-4 died while receiving treatment at Katari hospital, informed Bir Bahadur Buda Magar, Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Udayapur.
The jeep, registered in Sikkim of India, (number SK 01 PB 3068) got out of control and fell 200 meters down the road, said Buda Magar.
Udayapur District Police office informed Laxmi Prasad Rai, 55, and Ashish Limbu of Pathari Sanischare-4, Pawan Rai, 28, of Darjeeling, India and driver Bhupal Rai, 45, of Sikkim have critically been injured.
The injured, who were initially taken to Katari District Hospital have now been taken to Biratnagar for further treatment, informed the police.
