By Ganesh Khanal, Arghakhanchi, June 8: As many as 29 people including deputy mayor of Sandhikharka Municipality, Thakur Kumar BK, are found to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19.
With this, number of COVID-19 patients in Arghakhanchi district has reached 35.
According to Pushpa Thapa, Chief of District Health office, the infected are a person from ward 1 of Sandhikharka Municipality, 10 persons from ward 6 and 16 persons from ward 7, a person from Sitganga Municipality and a person from Panini Rural Municipality.
Chief District Officer of Sandhikharka, Bijay Raj Paudel, said that there were four infected people in the quarantine of the municipality and that those confirmed today would also be kept in the quarantine.
Infected deputy mayor BK said that he got infected while devoting himself in the service of the people and that he would also utilize his time despite being infected for the same. All the persons confirmed today as having been infected are the people from the quarantine and they have already been contacted.
Earlier, a person of the district had died while returning home from India.
