By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb. 15: At least 185 Nepalis residing in Wuhan, from where the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) originated, have reached the Wuhan Tihane airport to fly back to Nepal.
"Everyone who had filled up the form issued by the Embassy have reached the airport," said Sushil Kumar Lamsal, Deputy Chief of Mission. "Their body temperature is normal."
Government has set up a well-facilitated quarantine at the training centre of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Kharipati to keep the China returnees for 15 days.
The quarantine was established in six days with the help of Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.
The doctors and health workers residing in the quarantine will be providing all the necessary services to the returnees.
A wide-body aircraft of the national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines A330, with three pilots, four health workers, seven crew members, one engineer, one technician, one dispatcher and 17 doctors, was sent to Wuhan on Saturday afternoon to fetch around 185 Nepalis.
A total of 186 people: 143 men, 42 women and one Honduras national will be coming to Nepal by the aircraft.
The plane is scheduled to land in Kathmandu at 3:00 PM on Sunday.
A health check-up will be conducted over all the returnees and they will be sent to the quarantine location by embracing all the safety measures.
18 CCTV cameras, eight television sets and speakers in all the blocks have been installed in the quarantine.
The quarantine also holds three washing machines, beds, table, slippers, soap, medicines and other basic daily utilities.
"The government will be sending the returnees to their home after keeping them in health surveillance for 15 days," said Narayan Prasad Bidari, Secretary of the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
Stating that the government would not let COVID-19 to breakout in Nepal, Bidari requested everyone to stay calm and out of fear of the virus.
