By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 29: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday confirmed 1,615 new cases of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.
In 9,769 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done across the nation in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,615 persons, 704 females and 911 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection in the Valley, informed the MoHP in its update.
Of the 1,826 infections recorded by Bagmati State in the last 24 hours, 1,615 were found in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts.
Currently, there are 16,521 active cases of COVID-19 in Kathmandu. The capital city's COVID-19 tally stands at 59,234 including 42,504 cases of recoveries and 209 fatalities.
Likewise, Bhaktapur has recorded 5,519 infections until now of which, 4,383 patients have already recovered while 61 succumbed to the infection. There are 1,075 active cases in Bhaktapur.
Lalitpur district has recorded 8,350 cases of novel coronavirus infection until now including 5,822 recoveries and 58 deaths. Currently, there are 2,470 active cases in Lalitpur.
