By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, Apr. 19: A 14-year old boy of Dhankaul, Sarlahi district, who had tested COVID-19 positive in Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) on Friday has tested negative for the virus in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test today.
The PCR test of his swab samples was carried out in the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), Kathmandu.
The boy had entered Nepal on March 5 and had been staying in quarantine constructed by Dhankaul Rural Municipality.
Right after testing positive for the virus in RDT, the boy, along with another person who had been staying with him in quarantine were immediately sent to Janakpur Provincial Hospital.
Mohan Bahadur G.C., Chief District Officer of Sarlahi, informed that the swab test of both the persons was found to be COVID-19 negative.
Likewise, various local levels of Sarlahi district have been sending those who have completed their quarantine period to their homes, requesting them to stay in home quarantine for additional one week.
Eight persons staying in Chakraghatta, Ramnagar and Kaudena Rural Municipality have been sent home on Sunday, informed CDO G.C.
