By Sujal Shrestha, Pyuthan, Aug. 10: As many as 14 Nepali Army personnel of Indra Dhwaj Battalion stationed the district headquarters have been found infected with the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Similarly, a detainee at the custody of the District Police Office has been found infected with the deadly virus. Besides, six persons of Swargadwari Municipality and a person of Mallarani Rural Municipality have also been found infected with the pathogen.
Bishal Subedi, chief of Pyuthan District Health Office, said that identity of a person who tested positive for COVID-19 was yet to be ascertained.
As many as 23 persons of the district were found infected with the virus in the PCR test carried out at the Provincial Public Laboratory, Bhairahawa on Monday. The 23 persons, 20 males and 3 females, include the NA officials and they belong to the age group of 12-46 year.
