Nepal thrashed Bhutan by a wide margin of 141 runs in men's cricket tournament under the ongoing 13th South Asian Games at Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan University Cricket Stadium in Kathmandu today.
Bhutan was restricted to paltry 95 runs at the loss of six wickets in the chase of a 237-run target posted by Nepal.
Invited into bat first after losing the toss, Nepal made 236 runs in allotted 20 overs at the loss of three wickets. For Nepal, Captain Gynendra Malla hit a century helping Nepal win. He made 107 runs off 55 balls with nine sixes and five boundaries.
Likewise, Paras Khadka hit 57 out of 28 balls including one six and nine fours and Dipendra Singh Airee remained unbeaten on 45 off 27 balls. Airee scores included two sixes and four boundaries.
Likewise, Rohit Kumar Poudel contributed six runs while Aarif Shekh remained unbeaten on four.
Khadka claimed two wickets against Bhutan, and Karan KC, Lalit Rajbamshi and Pawan Sarraf one each.
For Bhutan, Mikyo Dorji hit highest 27 runs. Likewise, Sonam Tobgeyale made 15 runs and Tobden Singele contributed 11.
Dorje took two wickets against Nepal, and Singele one.
Nepal will play against Maldives tomorrow.
