Surkhet, Jan 28 : A youth died after he was run over by a tipper near Gautam Chowk at Birendranagar Municipality-3 today.
Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Keshar Bahadur Singh of Simkhet, Mahabai rural municipality-3 in Kalikot district. Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Surkhet, Dilli Raj Panta, said the tipper (Bhe 1 Kha 2242) had knocked down the motorcycle (Bhe 1 Pa 2178) Singh had been riding.
The relatives of the deceased have been demonstrating by burning tires on the road at Yarichok and Gautam Chowk protesting over the death of the youth due to 'recklessness' of the tipper driver. Police has arrested the tipper driver for necessary action. Discussions are on for handing over the body to the victim's family, police said.
