By Jibachha Yadav, Lahan, Mar. 17: Construction of four-lane road in 87-kilometer long Kanchanpur Kamala National Highway has been moving on in full swing in Lahan Municipality area.
The construction works for widening the five kilometers road in the Lahan area are expected to complete before monsoon season.
Superintendent of the Kanchanpur Kamala Project Anil Dhungana said, "The construction is being done under two phases under the project. If the works run smoothly the construction of a four-lane road in around 87-kilometer highway from Kanchanpur, Saptari to Kamala, Siraha would complete within three years as per the given deadline."
According to Dhungana, the two phases of the construction will begin from Siraha and Rupani of Saptari. A 14-meter wide bridge is also being constructed over the Balan River.
Stating that the construction of an overhead bridge in Lahan Municipality would be done after the end of monsoon season, Superintendent Dhungana said that the construction would take pace after the road enters the market area.
"As the construction is moving on in coordination with the local levels of both Saptari and Siraha, the cooperation from the locals has facilitated us in speeding up the works smoothly," he added.
Likewise, Muni Sah, Mayor of Lahan Municipality said that the locals were excited about the construction of a four-lane road in their area.
