Kanchanpur, Feb 2 : A total of 50 economically underprivileged women in Shuklaphanta Municipality from Kanchanpur district have been provided with financial assistance for goat rearing to empower them financially and help in the reduction of domestic violence.
The selected women from ward no. 2 and 12 of the municipality were given Rs 3,000 each for their skills and entrepreneurship development after a weeklong training.
“Domestic violence will decrease if the women are economically resourceful. We have given them the grant assistance amount along with the weeklong training to make them economically sound,” said Kamala Joshi, chief of woman section of the municipality.
She argued that this move will encourage women for savings, development skills, mobilize capital in productive sector and empower them socially and economically.
