Baitadi, Aug. 10: A woman health worker has been severely beaten at Nakali Health Centre at Purchaudi Municipality-3 in Baitadi district.
Twenty-five years old auxiliary nurse midwife Janaki Bhatta shared that she was beaten black and blue by two youths while treating the patients in the health centre.
Mohan Kunwar, 24, and Birendra Kunwar, 21, of Purchaudi Municipality-3 beat the health worker. Bhatta explained, "I was attending to an elderly patient who was hard of hearing. I spoke to her in a loud voice to which the youths reacted harshly and beat me saying, "Is this the way you render health services to the patients?"
Bhatta has sustained injuries in mouth, bust and head while the fingers of her hand have been bruised. Bhatta has reached Municipality office and local police station to seek justice.
According to her, the two irate youths had also manhandled office assistant at the health centre and tore the papers in the office after which they fled the scene.
Health centre's in-charge Ganesh Dhanuk demanded action against the culprit.
Police have been on manhunt for the youths involved in the incident.
District Police Office, Baitadi Chief DSP Narayan Prasad Adhikari shared that investigation into the case was underway while the search for absconded youths was on.
