Syangja, July 22: A woman died and her daughter was injured after landslide buried a house at Galyang municipality-10 in Syangja in the wee hours today.
The District Police Office (DPO) Syangja's Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad Adhikari confirmed the death of Maya Saru (Yam Kumari) of Simalsaura. Her daughter Narayani, 20, was rescued by the locals.
The landslide triggered by incessant rain since the night hit the house at 3:30 am. It fell some 25 meters above from the house. It were locals who found the mother and the daughter covered by the landslide.
The injured is being treated in a Waling-based Hospital in the district. Two other neighbouring houses of Padam Saru and Jawan Saru were also damaged by the disaster.
