Nawalpur, March 24 : As the fear of COVID-19 outbreak looms large, a local level in Nawalpur district has started distributing social security allowances to the beneficiaries by visiting their doorsteps.
The officials of Gaindakot Municipality-1 visited the locals’ doorsteps to provide the allowance arguing that such a move would reduce the risk of coronavirus pneumonia.
Ward Chair Hari Prasad Sapkota said the amount of social security allowance was provided to the beneficiaries at hand, as sending the amount in the bank and financial institutions would create more crowds and increases the risks of COVID-19.
Sapkota shared that the allowance was given to the beneficiaries at the presence of people’s representatives and chiefs of different social organizations.
According to Ward secretary Padam Prasad Adhikari, a total of 100 beneficiaries including senior citizens, differently-abled persons and single women received the amount at their doorsteps.
