Chitwan, Oct 17 : Member of Khairahani Municipality Ward No 12, Badri Bahadur Pande, died of COVID-19 last night. The 49-year-old was suffering from cancer as well.
Pande died at Bharatpur Hospital last night, said Hospital's Information Officer, Leeladhar Poudel, adding that Pande had tested positive for the coronavirus on October 14. He had been receiving the third round of chemo therapy.
He was admitted to the hospital after severe cough and respiratory problem and undergoing treatment on ventilator support.
Pande had been elected from the Nepali Congress.
Meanwhile Chitwan District President of NC, Jeet Narayan Shrestha, expressed deep grief over the demise of Ward Member Pande.
Earlier, Chairperson of Ward 20 of Bharatpur Metropolis had died of COVID-19.
