Bajura, Dec 8 : Chairperson of Swamikartik rural municipality in the district, Chiranjibi Shahi rescued two children, who have been left in the lurch following death of their mother recently. The rescued children--three-year-old Devdatta Luwar and six months old Basanti Luwar of the municipality-1--are now under the care of SOS Balgram, Dhangadi.
The children, who are suffering from malnutrition, were under the care of their 51-year-old grandmother, Suki Luwar following their mother death.
Chairperson of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Bajura, Prakash Singh, information officer at the municipality, Kuber Shahi and chairperson of civil society, Janesh Bhandari helped with the rescue.
"I have left the children to the care of the SOS Balgram after it ensured their care and education," said Shahi.
Chief of the SOS Balgram, Dhandadhi, Padam Hamal said the SOS would provide care and education to the rescued children.
