Mahendranagar, Aug 19 : Viral fever is taking its toll in Kanchanpur district. Many health institutions in the district have been flooded by viral fever patients, said health workers.
Mahakali Provincial Hospital received more than 100 patients with the infection on a daily basis, said the hospital medical superintendent Dr Hari Kumar Shrestha.
"The patients did not show symptoms of COVID-19 however. Only five COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment at the hospital," he said.
Many health institutions in rural areas have reported increasing cases of viral fever, said the health office.
Meanwhile, the hospital will install a medical oxygen plant with the financial help of the United Nations Office for Project Services.
"It has been informed that the organisation has brought 80 percent equipment for the plant. Now a pipeline expansion at the hospital is underway," he said.
