Deukhuri, Dec 3 : People at Guruwagaun had to face problems in lack of reliable sources of drinking water in the area.
They had to fetch water from a well and faced acute shortage during summer time after the well started drying up gradually.
Now, the locals are happy after the installation of water pipeline for drinking water facility in villages.
People of Guruwagaun, Beruwagaun and Gurgain would consume water drawn from a boring dug at Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city-6, Guruwagaun.
Chairperson of Drinking Water Consumers' Committee, Bamdev Sharma, said that works of the project are underway in a full swing at a cost of Rs 20 million and people's voluntary contribution equivalent to Rs 5.3 million.
The Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Office, Dang, has started laying drinking water pipeline at the villages, he added. The activities have been started as per the three-year plan.
Sharma further said that they have set a plan to directly provide drinking water at tap of consumers after collecting water at overhead tank after completing the task of laying pipeline.
A target has been set to provide drinking water facility to 200 households of the villages in the first-phase.
Himal Chaudhary of Gurgain said that though it was difficult for voluntary contribution as well as to raise fund for the construction of the project, they are happy knowing that they are getting drinking water at their door step.
Taps for the drinking water facility have been installed at more than 6,500 houses in two years in Dang.
The Division Office, Dang, has been installing drinking water tap as per the Lumbini province government's determination 'one house, one tap' in the district within three years.
