Valley CDOs waiting for Home Ministry's guidance on easing prohibitory order

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 9: The decisions of the CDOs that include easing up the ongoing prohibitory order in the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley, allowing private vehicles to ply as per odd or even rule based on date and letting open shops of different nature on different days have been sent to the Home Ministry for the final approval.

The meeting of the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley and other concerned stakeholders made such a decision yesterday and sent it to the Home Ministry, said a participant in the meeting.

The modality of the prohibitory order will be made public today after getting permission from the Home Ministry, said the official.

After a virtual discussion with the Kathmandu Valley's Municipality Mayor's Forum and industrialists, security bodies on Tuesday, the CDOs of the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley formally discussed on the prohibitory order and sent the decision to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Janak Raj Dahal, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kathmandu District, said that, the decision was made after the virtual meeting with Municipalities Mayor Forum, industrialists, security bodies and the same decision was sent to the Home Ministry.

A meeting of the Mayor Forum on Tuesday had decided to gradually lift the prohibitory order of the Kathmandu Valley by strictly mobilizing the Army officials in every checkpoints.


The Chief District Officers have already taken the decision on the basis of discussions with all and the decision is sent to the Home Ministry for its opinion.

However, the final decision will be made public after the Home Ministry gives instructions.

CDO Dahal did not elaborate the decision, but said that the decision would be made public after the virtual meeting among CDOs of the Valley to be held today.
