Kathmandu, Oct. 25: UNESCO Representative to Nepal, Michael Croft, today paid a courtesy call on Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel.
During the meeting that took place at the Ministry, issues ranging from the building of school infrastructures to COVID-19 implications on the education sector in Nepal were discussed between the two.
On the occasion, the Minister said education, science and technology, and health were the priorities of the incumbent government.
Stating that education would open a door to opportunities for all citizens, he urged UNESCO to invest more in Nepal’s education sector.
In response, the UNESCO Nepal Representative said they were here in Nepal for the actions in the area of education and urged the government to set priorities for actions for it.
The two also discussed the building of the ‘UNESCO Village’ at Gokarneshwor municipality of Kathmandu.
