Kathmandu, June 30: The 10th national general convention organizing committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML today has dissolved the committee to revive the erstwhile Central Committee. The meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence took the decision.
The decision was made to address the demand from the dissenting faction of the party. As a result, the action taken against the dissenting leaders has been nullified.
The committee meeting held today at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar decided to summon the meeting of the central committee prior to the unification with CPN (Maoist Centre) for July 2, said UML spokesperson Pradeep Gyawali. Earlier, the standing committee meeting on
Saturday had decided to hold the general convention organizing committee meeting to revive the central committee.
The general convention organizing committee was formed by the central committee meeting held after the CPN-UML was revived by a Supreme Court order on March 12.
