By Sahadev Basnet, Jajrkot, Oct. 24: Two women were killed and two others seriously injured when a mud mound buried them and while they were digging mud for cleaning and painting the houses on the occasion of Dashain festival.
Those who lost lives have been identified as Sitala Jaisi, 30, of Chuwa village, Chhedagad Municipality-3 and Aarati Dahal, 16, of the same village.
Similarly, those who got injured are Sarita Jaisi, 24, of the same village and Dhansara Chadara, 51, of Chhedagad Municipality-4.
The women had gone to Dashora, a place lying some 6 kilometer away from their settlement, to fetch mud for cleaning and painting the house on the occasion of Dashain.
The locals said that dry landslide occurred at the place of mud extraction and buried the women while trying to dig the mud.
Kishor Kumar Shrestha, chief o Jajarkot District Police Office, said that two critically injured women passed away while undergoing treatment at the local health post.
Two other seriously injured women have been airlifted via a Nepali Army chopper in the special initiative of Shakti Bahadur Basnet, Minister for Forest and Environment and member of House of Representative (HoR) from Jajarkot.
Kamansingh Ramjali, Assistant Police Inspector at Dashora Area Police Office, said, of the two injured women, condition of one was very serious.
