Bharatpur, Feb 2 : Two people died while nine others were injured in two separate road accidents that took place in the district on Saturday.
A man of around 30 years old died when a motorcycle (Na. 39 Pa. 1924) was hit by a passenger bus (Ba. 4 Kha. 9509) coming from the opposite direction in Tarkari chowk of Ratnanagar municipality-3 last night. The deceased is yet to be identified, police said. The bus driver has been taken into custody for necessary action.
Likewise, in another accident that took place at Kairaheni municipality-3, an eight-month-old child died while nine others were injured. The accident took place when a passenger bus (Na. 7 Kha. 3248) heading towards Kathmandu from Jaleswar hit a truck (Na. 6 Kha. 1506) coming from the same direction, police said. The deceased is the son of Gundo Mandal of Manorasa-6 in Mahottari.
Of the injured, the condition of two is reported to be critical. They are undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College and other medical centres. The truck driver has been arrested while the bus driver is at large.
