Kathmandu, March 26 : Police have arrested two persons along with fake currency notes and a printer to produce the notes. The arrested ones are 35-year-old Gan Bahadur Lopchan, 35, from Rautahat and Maya Tamang, 39, from Makwanpur.
A team mobilized from Metropolitan Police Circle Kalimati had arrested them.
Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu, DSP Ramesh Bahadur Basnet, informed that they were held based on tip off that Lopchan and Tamang had come to Kalanki vegetable market along with fake notes. They were held on Wednesday night.
It has been disclosed with investigation that they were producing fake notes with a printer in a home at Kirtipur. The police also confiscated 51 notes of Rs 1,000 denomination, 57 notes of Rs 500 denomination, a set of printer, photocopy paper, and a laptop.
Further investigation is continued on them, the police added.
