By Rajan Rawat, Humla, Feb. 26: Two companies have been selected for the construction of the solar mini-grid in Yari and Hilsa of Namkha Rural Municipality-5 in Humla district.
The construction of the solar mini-grid project was delayed with the cancelation tenders made for two times in the past for the bidding amount surpassed the actual allocated budget amount.
"Two construction companies have been selected for the tender this time," said Birendra Thapa, District Advisor of the Rural Village Water Resources Management Project (RVWRMP), Humla.
Among them, Suryodaya Urja Private Limited and Him Electronics Private Limited of Kathmandu have been selected.
Around one hundred kilowatts solar mini-grid will be built for 101 households of Hilsa and for Yari, a 50-kilowatt mini-grid will be constructed.
For this, a contract agreement of Rs 26 million has been signed for Yari, and another agreement of Rs. 37 million has been signed for Hilsa.
With this, both the villages will see light and can utilize the varied prospects of electricity as well.
Selected companies have said that they will connect the solar mini-grid and supply electricity by the end of coming June. The project has stated that the procurement process will start immediately after the agreement with the selected construction companies.
