Gorkha, Aug 7 : Two children went missing in the Daraudi River in Gorkha. The missing are Sabin Shrestha, 16, of Palungtar municiplaity-1, Khurpajung and Prajjwal Shrestha, 15, informed Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office Gorkha, Basudev Khatiwada.
He further shared, "It came to our information that four friends had come to see football match at Benikhola in Gorkha municiplaity-3 from Khurpajung. Two of them were taken away while crossing the river on the way back to home".
The river swept away the children on Thursday afternoon. The search and rescue operation has become tough due to rising water level in the river following the incessant rain, police said.
Police, locals and realtives of the missing children have intensified the search operation at Majhuwa, Bahrakilo and Chorkate areas around the river, DSP Khatiwada said.
