Baglung, Feb 4: Dhankala, 94, and her family members of Galkot Municipality-9 here established ‘Tika-Dhana Active Journalism Award’ at Baglung chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists.
They established the award in honour of late Tikaram Kharel. A fund of Rs 100,000 has been established in the chapter with an objective of awarding an active journalist in the district every year, said Mitra Kharel, son of late Tikaram.
Also the Chairperson of Galkot Journalist Society, he said that the award would be presented from the interest incurred from the fund.
Senior citizen, Dhankala, provided the amount she received as the senior citizen allowance and the family members also supported in the fund for the same.
Chapter President Dil Sirish shared that the fund for prize would be run and managed by making a separate working procedure.
Fund patron and her family members handed over the amount to President Sirish on Tuesday.
